Pacers' Tyrese Haliburton Suffers Knee Injury

All-Star Guard Exits Game with Strained MCL

Initial Diagnosis Rules Out Torn Ligament

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana Pacers All-Star guard Tyrese Haliburton strained his left MCL in Monday's win against the Lakers, the team announced Tuesday.

Haliburton was carried off the court in the second quarter after colliding with an opposing player. Initial concerns of a more serious injury were allayed when an MRI revealed a grade 2 MCL sprain.

The Pacers estimate that Haliburton will miss 12 weeks if the ligament is not torn off the bone. However, further evaluation will be needed to determine the severity of the injury.

Haliburton has been a key player for the Pacers this season, averaging 20.2 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 10.2 assists per game. His absence will be a significant blow to a team currently vying for a playoff berth.
